ABOUT DPBA
Dakota Pet Breeders Association was formed in 2000 by a group of people that had something in common. They all enjoyed and wanted to continue raising dogs far into the future. They needed to be organized and coordinated, and they needed to present a professional presence to the public. DPBA has four area of focus:
EDUCATION
Our primary focus is on education. We feature an annual seminar with national speakers and workshops that provide a more personal approach to education.
BREED ADVANCEMENT
Breed advancement is another focus. The DPBA hosts a dog show and has members that also show on a larger circuit.
LEGISLATION
The association strives to have an open line of communication on local, state, and federal levels where we communicate our stance on proposed legislation & rule changes.
PHILANTHROPY
DPBA has been fortunate enough to donate to organizations such as Big Paws Canine as well as individuals and families going through hard times. We've also started a scholarship program.
In 2019, the members of the DPBA earned a cumulative total of 445 credit hours of continuing education. These credits are the hours spent in a classroom setting learning from and working with industry professionals such as veterinarians, dog trainers, nutritionists, show judges, USDA & State officials, etc.
The DPBA hosts an annual Breeders Educational Seminar, as well as regularly scheduled workshops to offer our membership educational opportunities.
